Behavioral Health Care Manager Essentials: A Self-Guided Overview

Resource summary

The behavioral health care manager coordinates the overall effort of the care team and ensures effective communication among team members. Care managers may also provide evidence-based treatments or work with other mental health providers when such treatment is indicated in the treatment plan.

To understand the role and responsibilities of the care manager, the University of Washington AIMS Center has created the Care Manager Essentials Overview, which has seven sections. Each section includes learning objectives, articles, videos, and other resource materials with links to additional information about the section topic. Users can use the Overview flexibly to best meet learning needs. Users can elect to explore particular topics in depth or they might elect to review only the introductory information provided.
