- During periods of extreme heat cooling centers may be established in your area and are free to the public. Dial 2-1-1 to find a cooling center near you. Language assistance is available.

The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on safer ways to create air movement for cooling when air conditioning units and a central HVAC system are not available. This guidance was developed with long-term care facilities in mind, as many do not have centralized air conditioning.
