Who We Are

Medicaid Managed Care organizations (MCOs), the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and Health Care Authority (HCA) have been working to improve rates of well-care visits by convening the Collaborative Well-Care Visit Workgroup. Since 2017, the workgroup has identified strategies to promote well-care visits, including increased access to visits via expanded clinic hours with partner clinics and sharing best practices for completing well-care visits with other appointments. The workgroup works to promote Well-Care visits for children and youth ages 0-21. Health check-ups are important for growth, development and early detection. They also help kids with learning success.  And children's providers can even offer support for behavior, and mental health. Every child with insurance gets at least one free check-up every calendar year.

The Collaborative Well-Care Visit Workgroup is a partnership of the Apple Health Managed Care Organizations, the Washington State Department of Health and Health Care Authority working for the optimum health of Washington State residents.
