Francisco Martinez shares lessons from culture and language coaching at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. Attendees learn how intentional communication practices can strengthen relationships with patients and families. Topics include how trust is built (or broken) in everyday clinical interactions, cultural humility and language access, and practical strategies teams can use to create more inclusive, respectful, and patient-centered care environments.

UW Medicine’s Harborview Behavioral Health Institute host a free webinar to discuss burnout in community behavioral health. The webinar will cover systems, racial inequities, trauma exposure, and moral distress that lead to provider burnout, including for providers from historically marginalized communities. This panel webinar creates space to name these realities, share lived experience, and explore pathways toward sustainability, healing, and collective care.

The Washington School-Based Health Alliance’s (WA SBHA) Learn with the Alliance and Community Health Plan/Network of Washington (CHPW/CHNW)’s K-12 Health Innovations Learning Lab (HILL) are excited to collaborate with the National Center for Youth Law for a training on HIPAA and FERPA in school-based health centers (SBHCs) in Washington. The training includes a 60-minute presentation by Rebecca Gudeman, followed by a 30-minute Q&A led by WA SBHA and CHNW.

April 28 to 29, 2026: Psychosis CARE Virtual Conference (Virtual)

The conference invites a broad audience, including school staff, primary care providers, mental health therapists, substance use disorder professionals, law enforcement, families, individuals with lived experience to gather virtually to engage in Community Awareness, Resources, and Education as it relates to psychosis. Attendees can expect to learn more about early identification of psychosis, resources for supporting individuals experiencing symptoms of psychosis, Washington resources for psychosis care, and opportunities to engage with other attendees. The conference brings together an interdisciplinary community of health care professionals to share research and best practices aimed at improving adolescent-centered care. The conference will be held virtually on November 2 and in Detroit, MI, on November 5 to 7. Call for proposals end March 13. Registration opens in June 2026.

AAP childhood immunization schedule: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has published its own childhood immunization schedule since the 1930s. In 1995, that schedule was harmonized with the schedule published by the CDC. Now, for the first time in decades, the AAP schedule will once again diverge from the CDC’s to continue recommending vaccines based on the best available data. The AAP schedule maintains a routine recommendation for the COVID-19 vaccine.
