DOH hotline now accepts reports of positive over-the-counter COVID-19 test results

Washingtonians can now call DOH’s COVID-19 Information Hotline to report positive over-the-counter (OTC) COVID-19 test results. DOH staff collaborated with local health partners across the state to create a process for receiving, processing, reporting, and follow-up on over-the-counter tests. The positive OTC reporting process soft-launched in early August.

How it works

  • Positive OTC test reported to COVID-19 Information Hotline: Anyone can call 1-800-525-0172 to report a positive OTC COVID-19 test result. The hotline is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday - Friday (and observed state holidays). Language assistance is available.
  • Warm handoff to CICT: Hotline staff take the report and provide a warm handoff for case investigation and contact tracing either through local health or the centralized system, based on each local health partner’s preference.

In the coming weeks, DOH will promote this effort more broadly across a number of audiences and channels and make promotional materials available for you to share with your networks.
