Public Health Actions and Resources

Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias are public health issues because the prevalence and costs are substantial, the impacts are serious, and there are public health solutions.

The Alzheimer's Association Public Health Center of Excellence on Dementia Risk Reduction has developed resources for public health professionals to understand dementia, why it is a public health issue, and what we as pubic health practitioners can do to address it.

The Alzheimer's Association and CDC developed a free, introductory curriculum: A Public Health Approach to Alzheimer's and Other Dementias. Each learning module offers free CHES Continuing Education credits.
