StoryMap: take a tour of successful drinking water projects
DOH’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) program is highlighting successful drinking water system projects with a StoryMap – an innovative, immersive storytelling approach that combines interactive maps, content, and multimedia content.
DWSRF’s StoryMap introduces the DWSRF program and presents a “Map tour,” which plots project points on a map where the loans were used.
Exploring the StoryMap shows what's going on with water systems in Washington. Each point on the map showcases one of 23 successful DWSRF project stories, and provides a description, photograph, and link for more details. In the map tour, users can click either on the name of a project on the left side of the screen, or on a map pin on the right side to go directly to a location of interest. This interactivity makes it easier for users to find information they are looking for, without having to wade through information they’re not interested in.
DWSRF’s StoryMaps can help inspire other drinking water systems to participate in the program and improve their infrastructure. Visit the DWSRF StoryMap to see successful projects in your area and across the state.
