Report shares how DOH has handled and learned from pandemic

The state Department of Health released its COVID-19 In-Action Operational Assessment. The assessment was developed to identify strengths and opportunities for success during the DOH response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It covers the period of January 2020 through August 2021 and reviews the actions and capabilities of DOH.

The purpose of the In-Action Operational Assessment is to provide an account of how DOH responded to COVID-19. To accomplish that goal, the assessment outlines what elements of the response went well and what areas of the response remain as opportunities for future success. The report also includes observations and experiences from relevant partners and stakeholders.

The Office of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response is developing the DOH COVID-19 After Action Report (AAR) and Corrective Action/Improvement Plan (CAP/IP Plan) aimed to improve and enhance how the agency responds to future pandemic operations. This report is the follow up to the DOH In-Action Report linked above and will evaluate how DOH responded to the COVID-19 pandemic from June 2021 (Delta Wave) to June 2022.

We will be collecting qualitative and quantitative data from our internal and external response partners, starting with a survey that you can expect to see in early July. If you have any questions or comments, contact DOH Pandemic After Action Report Supervisor Amber McPherson.
