Get latest COVID-19 school and child care guidance and resource materials

The state Department of Health (DOH) released an updated version of the Requirements and Guidance to Mitigate COVID-19 Transmission in K-12 Schools and Child Care. This guidance is important for members of school and child care communities who make critical decisions around the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s guidance was developed through a collaboration between DOH, multiple local health jurisdictions, tribal health partners, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), the Washington State Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF), and other partners.

In addition to the updated guidance, we are sharing resource materials to support schools, childcare providers, and families. The materials below provide a high level overview of key changes in the guidance.

These resource materials will also be translated into additional languages, to increase accessibility, and are expected to be available later in August.

You can access the updated COVID-19 school and child care guidance on the DOH website located in the School and Child Care section of the Resources and Recommendations web page.
