CDC material supports COVID-19 prevention messaging
On August 11, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced new COVID-19 guidance to help people better understand their risk, how to protect themselves and others, and actions to take if a person is exposed, symptomatic, or tests positive for the virus.
Updates to CDC guidance will help people better understand their personal risk for getting very sick from COVID-19 and help them make informed decisions to layer prevention strategies as needed. This includes the recommendation of staying up to date with vaccination to protect from severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
