Novavax COVID-19 vaccine now allowed for people as young as 12
The state Department of Health this week updated COVID-19 Standing Orders so health care providers may begin administering the Novavax vaccine to clients as young as 12 years old.
On August 22, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky, M.D., MPH., signed a decision memo that Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine be used as another primary series option for adolescents ages 12 through 17. This recommendation follows FDA’s authorization of the vaccine for this age group under emergency use.
