How to access COVID-19 tests for early childhood education centers

Beginning November 1, 2022 Early Childhood Education Centers (ECEs) will be able to access COVID-19 tests for children, staff, and their families. This resource is provided through the CDC ELC Reopening Schools grant.

Local and tribal health partners will be able to place orders for at-home tests that will be sent to ECEs. Local health jurisdictions (LHJs) can order at-home tests through the LHJ ordering portal. Tribal health partners can order through the Tribal ordering portal. ECEs can use at-home tests to test children and staff onsite or send tests home with their families. Testing helps keep children, families, and staff safe while participating in learning activities.

The COVID-19 Tests for Early Childhood Education Centers FAQ provides more information about this resource. More materials will be available soon to help spread the word to ECEs in your network. ECEs are advised to contact their LHJ or Tribe if they are interested in receiving tests.
