Washington state expands access to naloxone in new standing order

A Statewide Standing Order to Dispense Naloxone has been issued to allow pharmacies to dispense indicated naloxone products to eligible people and entities based on availability and preference. The standing order also allows people to take the standing order to a pharmacy to get naloxone instead of going to a health care provider to get a prescription. Organizations may also use this standing order to get naloxone.

Standing orders for naloxone issued by DOH before January 12, 2023, should no longer be used.
