- Empower Your Communities With Ways To Respond To Incidents Of Opioid Overdose
Empower your communities with ways to respond to incidents of opioid overdose
Across the U.S. and our state, communities are seeing a sharp increase in opioid overdoses. We encourage you to view DOH's blog and social media accounts for resources regarding overdose awareness and share DOH's Prevent Overdose WA website with information about getting naloxone and how to reverse an overdose. For an overview of opioid use in Washington state, view DOH's Opioid and Drug Overdose Data page.
Friends and neighbors play an especially important role in keeping one another safe. The Friends for Life website, sponsored by the state Health Care Authority, includes a robust partner toolkit with printable rack cards, posters, short videos, and more you can use to raise awareness and help people take action.
If your communications team needs support responding to strong social media comments related to opioids, DOH has resources to assist you. For more information, reach DOH Communications Consultant Carrie Gubsch by email or at 564-669-0516.
