DOH taps communities to work on use of cannabis and commercial tobacco products by youth

DOH is pleased to be able to continue working with local communities to address the use of cannabis and commercial tobacco products by youth. This week DOH released a request for applications for interested organizations to participate. (See links below timeline for the application and additional attachments.)

DOH anticipates funding nine local community organizations throughout the state for their regional network and a minimum of five local community organizations for priority populations through CDC commercial tobacco funds and cannabis and commercial tobacco state funds.

CDC commercial tobacco funds: April 29, 2022 anticipated start date – may be renewable each year through April 28, 2027.

State funds: July 1, 2022 anticipated start date – includes funding for cannabis and commercial tobacco. These funds may be renewable each year through June 30, 2027.

Eligible community organizations: Local health jurisdictions, tribes, local tribal entities, Accountable Communities of Health, community-based organizations, county governments, municipalities, and other health-related entities that conduct public health strategies.

Letter of Intent due date: Applications will not be reviewed if Letter of Intent is not submitted.	January 14, 2022 8 a.m.
