Washington Rural Health Clinics

Washington’s Rural Health Clinics (RHC) play a vital role in expanding access to primary care across rural communities. Through the federal RHC program, clinics receive enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, helping them deliver affordable, high‑quality care where it’s needed most.

WA‑SORH is committed to supporting RHCs through clear guidance, shared learning, and strong partnerships. Our goal is to foster a collaborative space where clinics can access reliable resources, stay informed, and work together to strengthen rural health care across the state.

The CMS Medicare Learning Network (MLN) Manual (PDF) provides up‑to‑date educational materials and policy guidance, new updates are highlighted in red.

CMS Rural Health Clinic Center

This is the central hub for all RHC related information from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, offering access to policy updates, cost reporting forms, and detailed guidance on Medicare certification and billing for RHCs.

RHI Hub Rural Health Clinics Site

Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) - Rural Health Information Hub provides an overview, FAQs, resources, contacts, processes for becoming an RHC, and more. 

Noridian RHC Resource Site

The Noridian Jurisdiction F Rural Health Clinic resource site provides information on billing guidelines, cost reporting requirements, reimbursement policies, training resources, and claims submission guidance. Note: Users must click accept of their user agreement and monitoring to access the site.

Becoming an RHC

This online course is designed to provide education on the basics of the Rural Health Clinics program, give an overview of what an interested practice should consider in evaluating whether the RHC model is appropriate for them, and outlines the steps to get started with the application, survey, and certification processes. This is a self-paced course consisting of approximately 7 hours of video content.
