The state departments of Health and Ecology have officially transitioned to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Quality Index, to communicate air quality and associated health risks. Ecology updated its air monitoring network map, and updated public health guidance and resources are available on the Department of Health’s Smoke from Fires toolkit, including:
- Washington Air Quality Guide for Particle Pollution (available in 12 languages)
- Washington Air Quality Guide for School and Child Care Activities
- Washington Guide for Public Health Actions for Wildfire Smoke
- Wildfire Smoke Guidance for Canceling Outdoor Events or Activities and Closing Schools
