Help encourage return to well-child visits

This week DOH launched a statewide media campaign encouraging parents and caregivers to resume well-child visits and check-ups, which have been put off through the pandemic.

It is crucial that kids get back on schedule with annual checkups and immunizations. We wanted to let you know about the campaign in case you receive questions, particularly since providers may experience an increase in phone calls and scheduling requests from their patient populations as a result.

As parents and guardians bring children in for appointments, many will be due (or overdue) for immunizations. This is a great opportunity for providers to talk about the COVID-19 vaccine for those ages five and older. To support these efforts, we developed a toolkit of printable material to help you, your staff, and other providers in your communities navigate questions. It includes both provider and patient resources with translations: Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccines: What Parents/Guardians Should Know (wa.gov). We’re also continuing to support parents and caregivers with accessing vaccines by directing them to the vaccine locator.
