COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Enrollment Agreement ending
As of September 12, the COVID-19 vaccines have transitioned from being purchased by the U.S. government to being available on the commercial market, like many other vaccines. Since the federal government no longer purchases COVID-19 vaccines for administration through the CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Provider Enrollment Agreement, providers are offered the opportunity to disenroll via a signed acknowledgement of disenrollment (PDF) submitted to COVID.Vaccine@doh.wa.gov.
Providers may continue to administer doses of in stock USG provided doses of the existing ancestral Novavax COVID-19 vaccine to individuals who the provider has determined should not wait for an updated 2023-2024 Novavax COVID-19 vaccine, and who otherwise are contraindicated for receipt of an updated 2023-2024 monovalent XBB.1.5 mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, or refuse an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Providers who continue to administer ancestral Novavax vaccine supplied by the USG are still bound by the terms of the CDC COVID-19 provider agreement.
COVID-19 vaccines can still be ordered through regular state DOH vaccine programs: the Childhood Vaccine Program and Adult Vaccine Program. Please review this Comparison of Vaccine Program Requirements (PDF) to see how each of these programs differ.
Providers must check the CDC Provider Agreement Update Website for any additional required steps in closing out their participation in the CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
