Staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, is an important line of protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19. It is also critical to protecting our health care workforce and hospital system.

DOH’s Power of Providers is hosting a vaccine fatigue webinar. Dr. Gretchen LaSalle will discuss effective approaches to vaccine conversations and address vaccine fatigue in ourselves and patients. Participants will learn ways to recover their passion for vaccination conversations and develop strategies to make them easier and more effective.

A celebration thanking health care providers who supported vaccination during the pandemic as part of the Power of Providers Initiative was held July 19. Governor Jay Inslee and Secretary of Health Umair Shah, MD, MPH shared words of appreciation.
Due to your remarkable efforts to vaccinate Washingtonians against COVID-19, our state has one of the highest bivalent vaccination rates in the nation – nearly two million residents are fully up to date. DOH is proud to work alongside you in this challenging mission, and grateful for your continued partnership.
Since its launch during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Power of Providers (POP) initiative has brought together more than 4,500 individual providers and 400+ organizations. Since there is still work to be done promoting COVID vaccinations, we are preparing to reach out to more providers, licensed caregivers, and community health workers by email and phone. Before we do, we are seeking input from local health jurisdictions on how we can work together to best support providers in your communities.
