Tap the BARS report for LHJ expenditures data

The Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System reports for 2020 and 2021, also known as BARS reports, are now available on DOH’s website. These pages contain information about public health BARS data collection and use, including training and instructions for reporting the data, reports and subsequent analyses of the data.

These data provide detailed information about expenditures, such as the types of public health services provided (e.g., Maternal/Child Health, Tuberculosis, Food Safety, Assessment), and what types of revenue (federal, state, local, fees, etc.) were used to fund each of the local health jurisdictions.

You can find these BARS reports, as well as past reports, and additional information on the DOH BARS Funding and Contracts webpage.

DOH expects to publish the 2022 BARS report sometime this fall, but we need your help. We emailed 2022 BARS templates to local health jurisdictions in February. They are due to DOH by April 28, 2023. For BARS questions, email LHJInvoices@doh.wa.gov.
