Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program accepting comments ahead of public rules hearing May 1

DOH is proposing rules to establish a Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program. The Fruit and Vegetable Incentives Program includes farmers’ market Basic Food incentives, grocery store Basic Food incentives, and fruit and vegetable vouchers. These incentives allow eligible participants (people with food insecurity) to receive extra benefits to purchase fruits and vegetables.

DOH invites food retailers, farmers' markets, farm stands, and eligible participants to submit written comments or attend the public rules hearing.

The public rules hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on May 1.
