End of the Public Health Emergency messaging you can share
The end of the public health emergency declaration affects health policy measures associated with access to COVID-19 testing and treatment. The Public Health Communications Collaborative, working with the CDC, developed two webpages with messaging and guidance you can share to help inform communities about what the end of the public health emergency means to them.
Talking points about the end of the public health emergency include:
- COVID-19 vaccines will continue to be free for everyone, while the supply of federally purchased vaccines lasts.
- Insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing and treatment now varies by insurance type.
- People with Medicaid may receive COVID-19 testing and treatment at no cost through September 2024.
See additional information and guidance on what this means for people on this Public Health Communications Collaborative webpage. The page includes information about vaccines, tests, treatments, and reporting.
