DOH to share information by early June for K-12 and child care settings on how to prevent and respond to COVID-19
DOH will be updating the “Guidance to Prevent and Respond to COVID-19 in K-12 Schools and Child Cares” by the first week of June. There is no expectation that K-12 schools review and implement any guidance changes prior to the end of the 2022/2023 school year. The updated guidance will support K-12 schools, child care/early learning, and school partners to achieve our shared goal of maintaining safe and healthy learning environments.
The new guidance will include updated case reporting requirements and a new section on flu, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses. Additionally, the new guidance does not include expired requirements and metrics, such as the Secretary of Health masking order which expired on April 3, 2023, and the CDC COVID-19 Community Levels, which are no longer being used.
