Training for health care professionals who work with Ukrainian new arrivals

Since February 2022, more than 120,000 Ukrainians have arrived in the U.S. through the Uniting for Ukraine program. Of those, more than 20,000 resettled in Washington. Many of these new arrivals are unaware of available benefits and services. DOH is offering a new training specifically designed to help healthcare professionals who work with Ukrainian new arrivals.

Connecting with Ukrainian refugees: Meeting their needs with better care and key services, a free training (approximately 2.5 hours), aims to empower anyone working with newly arrived Ukrainians with tools and resources to help build positive relationships, conduct screenings for physical and mental health needs, ensure they meet their vaccine and tuberculosis requirements, and provide information about available benefits and services.

Continuing education credits are available through August 10, 2024, for nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and medical assistants. Share this training opportunity with your partners and communities.
