A provider toolkit for building and growing a sustainable telehealth program in your practice
From the American Academy of Family Physicians
For family medicine practices, the COVID-19 pandemic laid bare the inadequacy of fee-for-service (FFS) payment to support family medicine practices’ focus on health, wellness, and disease prevention. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has also allowed family medicine practices to innovate. Swift adoption of telehealth by AAFP members has allowed practices to maintain continuity of care with patients and in some cases engage new patients. Many family medicine practices are finding that telehealth is a powerful tool to promote continuity of care and offer convenient, routine care across a broad range of cases in family medicine. Telehealth can also improve coordination with specialists outside the practice.
