Webinar on using pandemic data modeling to inform public health decisions set for June 12
Join us from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 12 for the webinar “Using Pandemic Data Modeling to Inform Public Health Decisions” featuring Ian Painter, PhD, Senior Epidemiologist at DOH. Many of you may remember Painter from the weekly COVID-19 Modeling Situation Reports he provided during the pandemic.
In this webinar, attendees learn how to use predictive modeling to provide actionable information to decision makers during a public health crisis. Painter will identify the key elements of the infectious disease modeling workflow and examine how data is applied to the Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Recovered modeling workflow.
Registration is now open at the Public Health Data Learning Center, a new training website for anyone interested in becoming involved in public health data science. A recording of previous webinars is also available on the website.
This webinar series was developed in partnership between the Washington State Department of Health and the University of Washington School of Public Health and is intended as an introduction for those interested in data science.
The webinar series and training website are part of DOH’s data modernization efforts.
