DOH offers listening sessions to learn of health inequity experiences

The Department of Health encourages individuals and communities who have experienced health inequities or racism in the health care system to join us for one of our upcoming Health Equity Listening Sessions. Advocacy groups and health care professional associations are also invited. We’d like your help in sharing these sessions with your communities.

The listening sessions are an effort to learn how people are harmed due to inequities in the health care system. Information we gather from listening sessions will be used in future rule workshops. Individuals, communities, and health care workers will work together to create rules for health equity continuing education. Health care professionals must complete trainings in health equity as required by Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5229. (Additional information on Health Equity and SB5229.)
